The Pravo daily, Thursday, 26th June, 1997

HARRACHOV-PRAGUE (zr) During its session in Harrachov on Wednesday, the Media Commission of Czech Parliament decided to set up a seven-member commission to examine TV Nova's broadcasting licence. The commission' s task will be to look into the process as a result of which the CET 21 group was awarded a TV broadcasting licence. It will also examine how it came to pass that the CET 21 TV licence is currently used by Nova TV.

Pavel Dostal, Member of Parliament (Social Democratic Party) told Pravo that the results of the enquiry should put an end to speculation whether Nova TV broadcasts in accordance with the law.

Representatives of all Czech parliamentary political parties will be included in the commission of enquiry. The commission has been set up on the basis of a decision, made by Czech parliament during its session in May 1997.
